Plant is man’s friend in survival
– giving him food, fuel, shelter, source of medicine, and herald of life
sustaining rains. In fact, the man and
the entire range of animal life on this planet are solely the products of
Plant-Kingdom.
The fauna and flora are
decisively interconnected. That is to say without verdant vegetarian, the
animals excluding human being could not exist. Due to man’s ignorance and
population explosion, deforestation is rampant particularly because of ever
increasing need of land for human habitation. This results in environmental
pollution globally. Man is totally
dependent on the Plant-Kingdom. It is high time we realize this fact before it
is too late.
Apart from the much needed large
scale forestation, there is an imperative need for growing as many plants as
possible, whether yielding or ornamental, in home gardens, in parks and other
public gardens and in waste lands, river banks and sea shores to restore the
environment’s natural balance to save the mankind from the impending
catastrophe.
For a healthy and balanced
development of a nation, wealth in the form of material goods is, no doubt,
necessary, but a very eco-friendly environment is also essential. Colourful
trees and flowers play a great part in making the environment beautiful and
refreshing the minds of the inhabitants. A home or a neighbourhood with
well-planned greenery not only enhance the aesthetic value of the place but
contributes considerably to environmental efficacy. To grow and nurse the
